Relive Your Hunting Memories

from:

A successful hunt is full of memoirs, and one of the best ways to preserve these memories is to mount your antlers if you are skilled or lucky enough to harvest a trophy buck. Other ways of preserving your hunting recollections include a hunting photo album, a special hunting photo mounted on a plaque, a slide show of the preferred hunt pictures, and many other made to order products preserving the special moments of your hunt.

Antlers are true bone and different from horns. Antlers are renewed each year, and with age the antlers increase their size, points and mass. Bucks need to live to be at least three years of age or even better five years to have well developed antlers. There is a story behind every buck a hunter harvests, and mounting these horns will preserve those memories.

There are several different ways to mount your horns. There is a traditional mount that is essentially the horns and the top half of the deer skull mounted to a plaque. The skull cap is usually covered with leather like fabric and fastened to the mount with screws. A European mount is made up of the entire skull with the horns boiled clean and this complete skull and horns are mounted to a plaque.

A great way to commemorate your hunt is through a good sportsman's photo album. There are wooden, leather and vinyl photo albums that will save your best accounts of your hunt for years and generations of new hunters.

One product titled "Forever Hunting Memories" is a distinctive way to permanently cherish your hunting memories. This product takes a 5" by 7" color print, which is mounted on a thick slab of wood. The photo is then hand painted with an outdoor background, and epoxy is coated over this plaque for timeless preservation. This is truly a great way to permanently remember your hunting experience.

The Iron buck antler mount is another great way to create memories of your hunt. You can proudly display your antlers with this unique polished steel antler system. A work of art can be created by simply sliding your antlers between the two polished plates, and tightening the screw. This is a fast, easy and versatile system for mounting your deer horns.

Another great method to display your hunting rack is through laser engraving. A laser engraved picture plaque is a great way to celebrate your first buck, a trophy buck or your hunting gang. There are several versions of this item on the market. One type is a totally engraved plaque. An additional version you allows you to add your picture to an engraved plaque. All of the ways to remember your hunt are priceless ways to keep the great outdoor customs in your family.
